The story revolves around Maricruz a girl from a poor background who lives with her grandfather Ramiro
and her sister Solita, who is deaf-mute and whom they found abandoned when she was a little baby.They all live in a shack located in the middle of nature, near the Narvaez´s ranch property line.

Miguel and
Octavio are siblings and they both own the Narvaez´s ranch, which is
mortgaged because of the bad administration Miguel, the older brother,
has made. Octavio is a pilot and arrives in the ranch in need of money
since he has lost his job and wants the lands to be sold. He doesn´t
imagine that soon he will forget this purpose and will discover that the
earth, the sowing and sharing with the workmen become a source of
passion for him.
Octavio and Maricruz meet,fall in love and get married
Octavio
meets Maricruz while he is traveling around the lands and catches his
foreman mistreating her. Regardless of her humble origins, he defends
her as a gentleman. Immediately, he is trapped by her sympathy and
beauty.Octavio
asks Maricruz to move from their village home to the city where Octavio
and his family also live.
Episode 5....
Miguel offers ramiro money so that he, solita and maricruz go to live somewhere
else out of town to prevent that octavio gets married with maricruz. Maria
tells octavio that she thinks that he is getting married with maricruz to annoy
miguel and lucia. Octavio says that he will teach maricruz how to behave and
will not allow that miguel and lucia bother her. Miguel tells maricruz that
octavio will get tired of her and will abandon her. She refuses to believe him.
Miguel tells lucia that octavio is entitled to take his wife home because it is
also his. Maricruz decides to use the birth certificate where she appears to be
lupita's daughter only. Octavio asks miguel money to buy maricruz the dress and
shoes for the wedding but he tells him that he has no money. Miguel tells lucia
that he hid the van so that octavio can't use it in his wedding. Octavio and
maricruz sign the marriage certificate at the registry office. Maria tells
ramiro that he should not be sad because maricruz got Married with a good man.
Maricruz tells octavio that she loves him and they kiss. She cries because the
shoes hurt her and octavio takes her shoes off. She arrives barefoot at the ranch.
Octavio and maricruz are surprised to see that lucia prepared a gathering in
their honor. The guests make fun of maricruz when she chokes on the wine and
later because she eats the cake with her fingers. Maricruz is embarrassed
because she has to sleep with octavio. Lucia tells miguel that she will prevent
that maricruz changes so that octavio divorces her quickly. Octavio aks lucia
to give her a nightgown for maricruz. And when he sees her with the nightgown
he kisses her passionately and lies her down on the bed. Miguel is surprised to
see that octavio got up early to help him work in the ranch. Maricruz tells
josé antonio that she does not want to be in the ranch if octavio is not there
because she is afraid of his family. Ramiro and solita are happy because
maricruz goes to visit them and she tells me that she does not like the ranch.
He sends her back to the ranch but she tells him that she does not want to go
there.
Episode 9....
Maria tells santa that she is satisfied with the affection ramiro shows her.
Lucia tells maricruz that it is better that she doesn't have children, because
octavio told her that he can't wait to leave the ranch. Mister pablo tells
octavio that the cattle and the cows of the ranch are worthless. Maricruz tells
octavio that she does not want to eat in the dining room with the guests and
doesn't want to feel embarrassed or embarrass him. He forces her to go down.
Eusebio gives solita a bracelet. In the dining room maricruz spits out the wine
and splashes leticia. She refuses to eat snails. Octavio gets angry with her
and she goes to her room. He sends ofelia to tell her that she must come down
but she refuses and tells ofelia that she is tired that they make fun of her.
Octavio tells miguel he is not good at handling a ranch and that the cattle are
worth very little. Maricruz tells the monkey octavio that she will go back to
her hut if octavio goes with her. Lucia receives a telegram from her Cousin
esther telling her that she will spend some time in the ranch. Octavio tells
maricruz that she must behave the way lucia has taught her and maricruz tells
him that lucia hasn't taught her anything. Lucía orders ofelia to arrange a
room for esther. Solita comes back from the river. Eusebio gets off his horse
and tells her that he will make love to her. They struggle, she manages to free
herself but he catches up with her. Lucia tells maricruz that she will have to
take the furniture out of her room because they are for esther and asks her to
tell octavio that she didn't want them. Eusebio knocks solita down and kisses
her. Ofelia asks jose antonio where eusebio is, he answers he does not know and
she asks him to help her take the furniture to esther's room. Solita cries
inconsolably with her blouse torn. Eusebio tells her that he hopes that she has
enjoyed it as much as he did and rides away. Lucia tells octavio that she sent
the furniture to esther's room because the furniture is hers. Solita arrives at
her hut head bowed and with fever. Ramiro covers her. Esther tells octavio that
she is envious of his wife. Ramiro tells maricruz that solita has been in bed
for two days, that she doesn't want to get up and that she is very sad. They
are worried.
EPISODE 16...
Maricruz looks for the shotgun ramiro had and hiding among the bushes shoots
octavio to prevent that he leaves the ranch. Octavio wounded arrives at the
ranch and asks maría to help him. He tells her that he was shot the same as
jose antonio, but with a shotgun, he asks her to tell miguel what happened and
that she must be discreet. Octavio tells miguel that even if he is wounded he
will go to mexico city. Maricruz asks jose antonio to go to the ranch to see
how octavio is feeling because she knows that he is wounded. Jose antonio goes
to the ranch and tells octavio that is lying on the bed, that maricruz told him
that she knew that he was shot. Octavio tells him that no one shot him and asks
him to tell that to maricruz and that he is fine. Maricruz tells jose antonio
that she shot octavio. Lucía notices that miguel is mysterious and worried.
Miguel suggests octavio to call the police and tell them that he was
mysteriously shot. Octavio asks him not to call the police. Maricruz Faints in
her hut. Octavio tells miguel that he will divorce maricruz. Maricruz comes
round and feels nauseous. Octavio tells miguel that he will send him money to
start building the house for maricruz and asks him to be her guardian.
Alejandro tells raiza that he doesn't want to get married and asks her to take
care of the casino. Maricruz arrives at the ranch looking for octavio, asks him
to forgive her and tells him that she shot him. Octavio tells her that she
shouldn't tell anyone what she did. Octavio lies to maricruz telling her that
he won't leave because he is wounded and promises her to build her a house.
Maricruz accepts the house and octavio asks her if she also accepts that he
goes to mexico city to work and get the money to build her house. Raiza hires
aracely as cigarette seller in the casino. Octavio asks josé antonio to take
care of maricruz. José antonio tells maricruz that octavio left forever.
EPISODE 17...
Jose antonio tells maricruz that octavio told him he was leaving the ranch
forever. Eusebio takes octavio to a hotel and he asks him not to tell maricruz
where he is and gives him a letter for miguel. Miguel tells lucia that maricruz
won't receive any kind of help anymore and that he will bring back the cow and
the calf she has. Lucía tells him that hey must look for a way to make them go
out of the town forever. Eusebio arrives at maricruz' hut and tells her that
octavio abandoned her and that many bad things are waiting for her. Maricruz
tells ramiro that she will go to the narvaez ranch to find out the truth.
Ramiro talks her into not going there. At the vicentino hospital, the doctor
tells eduardo that octavio must be operated on immediately to save his leg and
asks him two blood donors. Miguel orders eusebio to go to maricruz' hut to
bring back the cow and the calf. Eusebio tells maricruz who sent him and warns
her that if she goes near the ranch they will take her to jail accused of
theft. María takes food to maricruz and tells her that octavio ordered her to
take care of her. Lucia tells maria that maricruz should go in person to look
for her food. Maricruz goes to the ranch and lucia tells her that she is always
welcome. Miguel tears in front of lucia the title deeds of the part of the land
that Belongs to octavio and that he gave maricruz. Ofelia tells maria that mrs.
Lucia wants to see maricruz to give her clothes she no longer wears. Miguel
goes to the police precinct to report that maricruz wounded octavio with a

Miguel asks lucia, what was the detective investigating. Jose antonio tells
maricruz that solita didn't die in the fire, but that they cannot find her
anywhere. Lucia tells miguel that the detective was looking for maria alejandra
mendoza and that he also asked for ramiro, but that everything must be a
coincidence, miguel tells her that he will have to speak with maricruz.
Maricruz tells jose antonio that she hates octavio because he hurt her veyr
much. Suarez sets maricruz free and tells her that they didn't press charges
against her. Suarez gives maricruz the urn with ramiro's ashes, gives her money
and asks her to leave the town. Maricruz tells suarez that she will go but that
someday she will come back to take revenge on all the people who hurt her. Maricruz
tells jose antonio that she will go to the capital. Lucia tells suarez that she
won't be at peace until maricruz leaves the town. Lucia writes a letter under
octavio's name and puts it in an envelope. Lucia gives jose antonio the
envelope with the letter she wrote, for maricruz. Lucia tells miguel that they
will invest in the ranch the money that octavio sends to build maricruz' house.
Maricruz cries when she reads the leeter that jose antonio gave her, octavio
asks her to forget him. Maricruz says to herself that she will take revenge on
octavio. Eduardo advises octavio to forget maricruz. He tells him that he loves
her. Maricruz tells jose antonio where solita can be. Suarez calls serafina
asking her to take care of maricruz. Maricruz finds solita in the old train
station. Ofelia gives maricruz clothes and money. Suarez tells maricruz that he
believes she is innocent but that she must leave the town.
EPISODE 22...
Jose antonio tells lucia that maricruz already left the town and is going to
the capital. Lucia tells miguel that maricruz already left the town. Maricruz
arrives at the same boarding house where octavio is. In the boarding house
serafina tells maricruz that she will give her the address where she can go and
ask for a job. Dionisia tells santa that eusebio was interested in solita.
Maricruz goes to alejandro mendoza's house asking for a job; tobias refuses to
give her the job when she disrespects him. Dionisia tells santa that she saw
once how eusebio forced solita to kiss him and that she thinks he did something
else to her. Alejandro tells tobias that he wants a young woman to take
benita's position. Solita has nightmares, serafina comforts her. Octavio tells
serafina that he will fly to acapulco and asks her to take care of his mail.
Santa reproaches eusebio because he took advantage of solita. She slaps him on
the face, ofelia watches them. Serafina tells maricruz that she will send her to
an employment bureau to see if she finds a job there. Maricruz arrives at a
house to take care of the children. Tobias calls the employment bureau and asks
for a young woman. The children throw food to maricruz and call her fool.
Octavio tells eduardo that he will never be interested in sonia. Ofelia asks
dionisia what happened with eusebio, dionisia tells her that eusebio cheated on
her with solita. Maricruz decides to quit taking care of the children. Maricruz
goes back to the employment bureau. Eusebio tells ofelia that it was solita who
made advances on him. The employee of the employment bureau sends maricruz to
work at the house of alejandro mendoza.
EPISODE 23...
María finds the box that ramiro gave maricruz with the documents. Maricruz
arrives at the house of alejandro mendoza and introduces herself as the person
that the employment agency sent to work there. Alejandro interviews maricruz
and accepts her. Lucia tells miguel that she will write a letter to octavio.
Miguel asks her not to tell him that maricruz is no longer in the town.
Teobaldo tells raiza that he will not allow that they play with aracely.
Teobaldo asks aracely that if he manages to get a lot of money to give her more
than what she earns at the casino, she would stop working there. Aracely tells
teobaldo that she would. Alejandro shows maricruz how to do the housework
carefully. Maricruz asks him to show her how to dust. In the boarding house,
serafina tells octavio that a new guest named maricruz and her sister arrived
at the boarding house. Raiza tells carola that she should throw teobaldo and
aracely out of the casino. Octavio remains pensive thinking that it is a
coincidence that the new guest is named maricruz and has a sister. Maricruz
tells alejandro that some day she will tell him how badly life has treated her
and that he is a very good person. Maria arrives at mexico city and without
realizing drops her change purse. Alejandro tells maricruz that he will take
her to buy clothes. She refuses to go. Eduardo talks octavio into going to isla
dorada. The clerk of the womens' clothes store tells maricruz that alejandro is
in love with her and that's why he buys her clothes. Serafina tells maricruz
that she should be careful with alejandro. Serafina tells maricruz that octavio
a pilot, is also staying there. Alejandro says to himself that he will help and
educate maricruz.
EPISODE 24...
Octavio reads the letter that lucia wrote him telling him that maricruz is very
well and that apparently she is forgetting him. Maricruz tells serafina that
she is not interested in meeting her guest octavio. Serafina tells maricruz
that she thinks she is pregnant. María asks some policemen to take her to the
address where maricruz is. Maricruz listens that the young man octavio is a
pilot. Alejandro tells tobias that he hired a new maid and that he will pay
maricruz the same salary he paid to benita and if possible a little more.
Maricruz discovers that octavio, serafina's guest, is octavio narvaez her
husband. Eduardo and octavio watch when maricruz is going to cross the street,
she runs and eduardo almost runs her over. Alejandro tells tobias that he will
never be able to set eyes on a girl like maricruz. Maricruz enters weeping and
alejandro mendoza, asks her why she is crying and offers to help her. Octavio
tells eduardo that he is astonished to see how much that girl looked like
maricruz. That he could amost assure him that she was maricruz. Alejandro
introduces maricruz to tobías and tells him that maricruz will have dinner at
the table with him. In the casino in isla dorada eduardo looks at aracely
spellbound. Eduardo flirts with aracely. Teobaldo watches them at a distance.
Alejandro tells maricruz that tobias will hire someone else to take benita's
position and that he will help her study and be and educated person. Eduardo
tells octavio that he feels really attracted to aracely. Tobías tells alejandro
that he could almost assure him that maricruz is pregnant. Alejandro tells
maricruz that he wants that a doctor checks her. Serafina notices that solita
has high fever and calls maricruz. Maricruz asks alejandro permission to go and
see solita. Alejandro decides to accompany her. Serafina tells maricruz that
the doctor saw solita and that she suffers a serious case of anguish. Maricruz
tells alejandro that she will not go back to work with him because solita needs
her.
EPISODE 25...
Tony tells teobaldo that carola will get upset if he keeps protecting aracely.
Alejandro offers maricruz to take solita to his house and that he will take
care of both. Maricruz asks serafina not to tell anyone where she is staying.
Octavio asks serafina to introduce him to maricruz. Alejandro teaches maricruz
how she should walk upstairs and she falls down unconscious. Alejandro asks
tobias to call the doctor. Doctor ortega tells alejandro that maricruz is
pregnant and that she will need to rest, that if she does not get better they
will have to take her to the clinic. Serafina tells octavio that maricruz left
the boarding house and that she went with her sister and the monkey to work in
a house. Octavio asks her if she knew where they came from and she tells him
that she only remembers that they were from a town in tamaulipas and asks him
why he is so interested in maricruz. He tells her that Maricruz is his wife.
Suárez calls serafina asking her if maria already arrived there with some papers
that belong to maricruz. Serafina gives maria the telephone and address where
maricruz is. Octavio tells eduardo that the girl that he almost ran over was
maricruz. María gives tobias the box with maricruz' documents and tells him
that he should give it only to her and offers her services as a maid. Tobias
smiles. Maricruz tells alejandro that in the box maria took her are the papers
of her mother, her father, her papers and her granddad and solita's papers.
Octavio tells eduardo that lucia lied to him telling him that maricruz was in
the town. Alejandro asks maricruz who is the father of the son she is
expecting. Over the telephone octavio asks lucia why she lied to him telling
him that maricruz was in the ranch. Alejandro tells maricruz that he will look
for the father of her son so that he stays with her when the baby is born.
Octavio tells lucia she is a liar and asks her to put miguel through. Lucia
tells him miguel is not there. When miguel is going to call gustavo, lucia
feings that she feels sick.
EPISODE 26...
Tobias suggests alejandro to check the box that maricruz received to know who
she really is. Alejandro refuses to do it. Maricruz tells alejandro the story
of her life and that she doesn't know her father. Octavio tells eduardo that he
wants to find maricruz to help her if she needs it that he doesn't want to play
with her anymore. Alejandro tells maricruz that he will protect her and solita
and that he wants that she sees a father in him. Maricruz receives classes of
good manners and education. Carlota scolds teobaldo for overprotecting aracely,
and tells him that she will make him very sad some day. Tobías checks the box
where maricruz has her papers. Teobaldo tells carlota that he does not want
that the thief of isla dorada is caught. Tobias sees the photo of lupita and a
paper with the address of alejandro and realizes that maricruz is his daughter,
but it puzzles him that her name is maricruz and not maría alejandra. Octavio
tells serafina that he is maricruz' husband and that he regrets having hurt her
so much. Tobías does not know how to tell alejandro the truth about maricruz
because he is afraid that he has a heart attack. Alejandro buys solita and
maricruz new clothes. Tobias tells maricruz that he has Changed with her
because alejandro is very fond of her and she has become very important in the
house. An agent asks teobaldo about the thief of isla dorada. Maricruz tells
tobias that she feels hate and that she wants to take revenge on those who hurt
her so much. Carola tells raiza that she is worried about the thief because the
clientele could stop going there out of fear. Tobias tells alejandro that
instead of looking for maricruz' father he should look first for her husband.
Justa tells maricruz that she suspects that solita is pregnant.
EPISODE 27...
Alejandro and tobias are surprised to see how much maricruz has changed in such
a short time. Justa tells maricruz that women shouldn't have children if they
are not married. Maricruz tells her that she is married and that if they fooled
her in that too they are even more swines. Maricruz does herself up to go to
the theater with alejandro. Eduardo invites octavio to the theater to distract
himself. Octavio is surprised to see maricruz smartly dressed in the theater, he
touches her arm and she asks him upset if he has mistaken her or if he lost
someone like her. Carlota tells teobaldo that he will have to stay on shore
when the casino ship sets sail to catch the thief and offers him to raise his
salary. Octavio tells eduardo that the woman looked like maricruz. Eduardo
tells him that it is impossible that the rich woman looked like her. Maricruz
thinks that she wants to take revenge on octavio. Serafina tells maricruz over
the telephone that octavio told her that he was his husband. Aracely tells
teobaldo that she is worried because he has to stay there to catch the Thief
zorrillo. Octavio hears when serafina is speaking with maricruz and asks her to
put him through. Miguel tells lucia that nacho medina will be his partner.
Maricruz tells serafina that she will hang up. Raiza advises carola to buy
alejandro the casino. Teobaldo is holding a roll of bills, tony sees him and
asks him how he got that money. He answers that those are his savings and also
the savings of aracely. Alejandro tells maricruz that she reminds him of his
daughter. Miguel receives a letter from octavio asking him if it is true that
maricruz is still in the ranch because he doesn't believe lucia. Alejandro asks
maricruz to let him treat her like his daughter while his daughter appears.
Maricruz says that she hates his father because he abandoned her and didn't
want to know anything about her. Maricruz prepares alejandro apple strudel and
tells him that she sees him as her father.
EPISODE 28...
Justa tells maricruz that she found solita fainted and recommends her to ask
alejandro to take her to a doctor. Eduardo tells octavio that if aracely gives
him an opportunity to be with him he will not waste it. Alejandro tells tobias
that maricruz can stay at his home even if his daughter appears. Lucia takes a
peasant to the ranch and makes her write a letter to octavio in the name of
maricruz. Doctor ortega questions maricruz and she tells him that solita never
had a boyfriend. He tells her that solita is pregnant and that maybe she was
raped. Maricruz tries to make solita tell her who hurt her. Maricruz tells
alejandro that solita was raped and is pregnant. Miguel tells lucia he doesn't
recognize her because of the cruel way she acts. Alejandro refuses to accept
that maricruz looks for a job and tells her that he will take charge of her and
solita. Tobias tells maricruz that she should check the papers of her box
because she might find something important about her father. Octavio receives a
letter from miguel telling him that maricruz is in the ranch. When maricruz
reads the name and the address of her father she realizes that alejandro is her
father and is happy to know that she is not alone in the world. Tony tells
teobaldo that he should be careful of raiza because she wants to separate
aracely from. Tobias tells maricruz that alejandro never got married because he
wanted to live with the memory of lupita and that while he doesn't get Better,
they won't be able to tell him that maricruz is his daughter. Teobaldo asks
carola to fire aracely. Maricruz tells solita that alejandro will protect them
because he is her father.
EPISODE 29...
Carola fires aracely telling her that an inspector from the government said she
was too young to work there. Maricruz tells justa how to prepare the meals for
alejandro. Justa complaints to tobias and he tells her that they must obey her
because if it came to it, alejandro would prefer maricruz. Raiza tells aracely
that she was fired because teobaldo asked carlola to fire her because he is in
love with her. Octavio bumps into maricruz in a mall and asks her what her
name.Is. She tells him that her name is maria alejandra. Alejandro suggests
maricruz to look for the father of her son and force him to be responsible.
Raiza recommends aracely to feign in front of teobaldo that she believes the
reason why she was fired and get away from him. Alejandro falls on his bed
taking his hands to his heart. He rings a bell and puts the oxygen mask on.
Tobias goes quickly to his bedroom and calls the doctor. Aracely refuses to
accept that teobaldo pays her what she earned in the casino and tells him that they
fired her because he asked them. Alejandro tells maricruz that he feels that he
is dying. Teobaldo reproaches raiza for wanting to make of aracely a woman like
her. Maricruz asks alejandro to let her go to the casino in isla dorada to find
out what's happening and that he is at peace. Eduardo suggests octavio to pay
Attention to raiza but he answers that he does not like her a bit. Tobias tells
alejandro that maricruz should go to the casino to help him.
EPISODE 30...
Maricruz wonders why she keeps bumping into octavio. Raiza wants to separate
aracely from teobaldo to take revenge for everything he told her. Maricruz goes
to isla dorada, teobaldo offers maricruz his help to find a hotel where she can
stay. Alejandro does not approve that maricruz has gone to isla dorada. Raiza
tells eduardo that aracely no longer works in the casino. Maricruz tells
aracely that teobaldo does right in not letting her work in the casino.
Teobaldo tells aracely that he thinks that maricruz is also an easy woman as
raiza. Maricruz tells carola that she wants to work in the casino and at the
same time represent alejandro. Eduardo tells octavio that he is in love with

Octavio goes to the casino and tells "maría alejandra" that he feels
attracted to her, that he thinks she is maricruz and tells her that her name is
maricruz. Carola tells raiza that the girl " mendoza" is dangerous as
a spy of alejandro and that she has captivated alejandro. Eduardo tells octavio
that he will go to look for aracely at her house. Octavio says to himself that
he sees maricruz in maria alejandra and that he would've liked that she was
maricruz. Aracely tells eduardo that teobaldo will get angry if he sees him in
the house and they agree to meet in playa blanca. Raiza realizes that all her
jewels were stolen and finds a note from zorrillo in the box. Carola tells
raiza that the handwritten note zorrillo left can help the police to catch him.
Maricruz sends an e -mail to alejandro telling him that She is almost sure that
the accounts that carola gives him are not right. Carola tells raiza that the
emir karim will go to the island and that she should be the first one that emir
karim sees when he goes to the casino. Alejandro tells tobias that he will sell
his part of the casino to carola. When emir karim arrives at the casino everybody
bows before him but maricruz. Karim tells carola that he wants to meet the lady
that didn't bow before him. Maricruz refuses to be introduced to karim.
Maricruz sends an e-mail to alejandro telling him that carola is a corrupt
person. Eduardo asks aracely to be his girlfriend. Maricruz questions teobaldo
about the kind of person carola is. Eduardo tells octavio that maybe he is
attracted to maria alejandra because of the way she treats him. Teobaldo tells
"miss mendoza" that she must not believe anything that the sisters
canseco tell her and gives her a flower. Teobaldo says to himself that he needs
to change his face because he feels attracted to her. Carola tells "
mendoza" that karim can fill her with luxuries. She answers that there is
no price to buy her. Maricruz finds in her room a flower arrangement karim sent
her, throws it and calls the receptionist telling her that they should not
accept any present that comes to her name. Carola tells teobaldo that she
thinks that "mendoza" is the lover of alejandro. Carola goes to
alejandro's house and tells him that the losses of the casino were due to a

Miguel tells jose antonio that he will give him eusebio's severance pay to give
it to him and that he doesn't want to see esuebio in the ranch again. At
santa's house, she tells jose antonio that the reason for the fight between
miguel and eusebio is because eusebio must know what really happened with ramiro
and that if they fire eusebio he will be upset with the narvaez and it will be
easier to make him tell the truth to inspector suarez. In the airplane a doctor
takes care of maricruz, sonia and eduardo attend maricruz, she asks eduardo not
to tell anything to octavio. Or anyone. Octavio notices a clear interest from
eduardo toward the pregnant woman, eduardo tells him he won't tell him because
she asked him not to let anyone know in isla dorada. In the hospital of isla
dorada maricruz gives birth to a girl. Doris tells andres she wants to go to
the casino ship. Carola tells raiza that she found someone to make maria
alejandra fall in love with him and make her go away from isla dorada. Andres
agrees to go with doris to the casino ship. Maricruz receives a flower
arrangement, she reads in the card that the "captain and copilot"
sent it and thinks that octavio send them to her. Karim tells mohamed that he
won't go back to arabia until he has finished his issues with maria alejandra.
Alejandro on the telephone asks carola to forbid the entrance to maria
alejandra to the casino ship. At the ranch, eusebio threatens lucia with going
to the police to tell what he knows, if she doesn't give him his job back.
Teobaldo asks eduardo if he intends to get married with aracely. Maricruz tells
juanita that she will pay her what she asks her as long as she takes good care
of her baby. Eduardo tells teobaldo in Front of aracely, that he won't get
married by force with her. Eusebio tells lucia he doesn't mind going to jail if

Teobaldo looks for eduardo and demands him to formalize his relationship with
aracely, eduardo tells him that he doesn't want to get married yet. Maricruz
tells alejandro that she hopes to live in isla dorada. Teobaldo warns eduardo
that if he hurts aracely, it will cost him his life. Mohamed heads karim
towards the place diana, passing herself as maria alejandra, is waiting for
him. Maricruz asks alejandro to call her maria alejandra in front of the
canseco sisters and not maricruz. Karim tells mohamed that he wasn't satisfied
with the encounter with maria alejandra, but that he is happy. Teobaldo hears
carola saying on the telephone that nobody should buy the casino. Raiza tries
to put alejandro against maricruz. Alejandro asks maricruz why she is so fond
of him; she tells him that he has been a very good man to her and solita.
Carola gives orders to her accomplice to break the roulette casino to decieve
alejandro. Karim tells mohamed that he wants to make fun of maria alejandra. At
the casino ship, karim, in front of raiza and eva, makes insinuations to maria
alejandra about the moments they spent together, mohamed remains nervous and
maricruz astonished. Raiza tells carola the comments karim made to maria
alejandra. Carola's accomplice starts winning several times at the roulette. In
carola's office, raiza tells carola, alejandro and "maria alejandra"
of a man, who has been really lucky because he is breaking the roulette.
Maricruz tells alejandro that is a trap from carola. Eusbio gets drunk And
tells jose antonio that lucia was responsible for maricruz' misfortunes. Carola
pays his accomplice and orders him to dissappear of the island.
"Zorrillo" blocks the way of carola's accomplice, takes the check;
that carola gave him and is surprised to see the small quantity written on the
check. The accomplice tells him that it wasn't him the one who broke the
roulette, that carola, herself, did it.

Carola's accomplice calls her to tell her that "zorrillo" robbed him.
Tobias asks alejandro to go back to mexico city because his health is in
danger. Maricruz receives a flower arrangement from karim with a jewelry box in
it. Ramad tells mohamed, it's urgent that karim goes back to arabia. Teobaldo
gives maricruz the check he took from carola's accomplice. Carola replaces the
check to her accomplice. Teobaldo tells maricruz that he passed himself off as
"zorrillo" in order to bring to ligth carola's embezzlements.
Alejandro tells maricruz, that if he doesn't get a buyer for the casino ship,
he will sell it to carola. At the airport, doris and isabel are attracted to
octavio and eduardo, they block their way. Mohamed tells karim why he must go
back to his country. Doris tells isabel she will be octavio's girldriend. Ramad
tells karim that he is urgently needed in his country. At toluca's airport,
doris waits for octavio to exit and says goodbye to him with a kiss on the
lips. Teobaldo tells carola, that he knows that the roulette bankruptcy was a
lie of her and warns her not to turn him into his enemy. Maricruz takes to a
jewelry store, the necklace that karim gave her, and asks for its value, the
jeweler tells her that it can only be sold with the title deed because it has
very high value. Miguel gives lucia a check and tells her it is the profit they
got for the sale of some cattle and that half ot it belongs to octavio. Simona
asks miguel why he has changed so much. Alejandro offers to sell the casino

Maria alejandra goes to carola's office and shows her a copy of the check
carola gave to her accomplice. She refuses to admit it. Octavio receives a
letter from lucia asking him to advise miguel because he has changed a lot.
Maria alejandra tells carola that zorrillo sent her the check. Isabel tells
doris that her behavior toward octavio is not right. Doris answers that she is
in love with him. María alejandra tells carola that she will not let that
alejandro sells the casino to her. In arabia, radam tells karim that it is his
duty for the good of the country to get married with the daughter of muslim and
have children. Maricruz tells teobaldo that if she tells alejandro the truth
that she is his daughter he might die. Karim tells radam that he will get

Eusebio lies dead on the ground. Lucia tells miguel that it was all a trap of
eusebio and that she believed him because he had changed with her. Miguel tells
her that he will turn himself in to the police and lucia asks him not to do it.
Miguel and lucia go back to the ranch and he tells her that they should call
the police and tell them that he killed eusebio. Lucia tells him that he has to
run away from the town. Ofelia and esther notice that lucia and miguel are very
nervous and think that miguel and eusebio had a fight. Ofelia tells esther that
eusebio is a beast and that miguel only could beat him if he was dead. Lucia
tells miguel that he must escape and ask octavio to help him. Miguel goes out
with a suitcase. Esther and ofelia question them and lucia tells them that she
will explain them later. When miguel is gone, lucia tells them what happened in
the river and that miguel killed eusebio. Ofelia wants to go to see eusebio but
lucía tells her that no one will leave the house. That the body of eusebio will
be discovered later. Miguel arrives at the boarding house and asks octavio to
help him and tells him why he killed eusebio. The governor goes to the Casino
and asks insunsa to introduce him to maria alejandra. Octavio tells miguel that
he will take him to isla dorada. Miguel gets drunk and tells him that he has
lived tortured since lucia confessed to him all the harm she had done to
maricruz in spite of knowing that maricruz was expecting a child. Lucia tells
inspector suarez that miguel killed eusebio. The governor asks carola to
introduce him to maria alejandra. Lucia tells inspector suarez that she does
not know the reason why miguel killed eusebio. Maricruz and the governor are
introduced. Karim deducts that mohamed lied to him and that he was never with
maría alejandra. Karim tells mohamed that he will kidnap maria alejandra. Maria
alejandra tells juanita that she will never fall in love again. Maricruz
receives presents from the governor and karim.

Juanita tells maria alejandra that she would like to have the change she has of
choosing between millionaire men. Maricruz tells her that she was poorer than
her and that she never sold herself to anyone. Octavio tells eduardo that
miguel will stay in isla dorada for some time. Carola tells raiza that if maria
alejandra has the protection of the governor, it will be her ruin. Octavio
proposes miguel to send lucia a telegram telling her that he is fine. Lucia
gives jose antonio the position eusebio had. Carola tells raiza that she has a
plan to stop a wedding between the governor and maria alejandra. Andres enters.
Lucia tells jose antonio that she will double his salary. Carola shows andres
the promissory notes he signed and insinuates him that he must avoid that his
father gets married with maria alejandra or that she will show his father the
promissory notes. Maria alejandra tells carola that she will be in charge of
the management and finances of the casino and that she will put an ad In the
newspaper to hire someone to take the position of teobaldo while he is out of
isla dorada. Octavio tells eduardo that miguel killed eusebio and that the way
things are the ranch will be completely lost. Doris asks eduardo to give a
message to octavio. Esther asks lucia not to work so hard in the ranch because
she runs the risk of loosing her baby. Octavio tells eduardo that he will take
miguel to the casino to have some fun. Eduardo introduces miguel to raiza and
tells her that miguel is a wealthy rancher. Octavio and maria alejandra meet at
the casino and they smile at each other. Miguel and raiza chat. Miguel gets
drunk and octavio and eduardo take miguel out and bump into maricruz. Miguel is
astonished to see her. The governor tells his children that he will not punish
them for going to the casino if she decides to get married and settle down.

Karim tells mohamed that he will throw the party to kidnap maria alejandra.
Maria alejandra tells juanita that she has a feeling that something bad will
happen at the party. Doris calls octavio and tells him that he should accompany

of octavio. In the ranch, lucia feels pain and faints. Jose antonio helps her.
Doris and maria alejandra meet at the boutique looking for a dress for karim's
party. Miguel says he will go to the casino to get the job. Doris looks down on
maria alejandra, tells her that she will not allow that she goes to karim's
party and calls her slut. The plastic surgeon removes the bandages of
teobaldo's face. Miguel goes to the casino for an interview with carola. She
explains him what his job will be and tells him he should have a gun and if he
knows how to shoot. Doris tells elsa that she will call karim so that he Withdraws
the invitation to maria alejandra. Doris tells maria alejandra that octavio
belongs to her. Miguel accepts the job at the casino. Raiza tells carola that
miguel and octavio are brothers. Doris calls karim and asks him to withdraw the
invitation to maria alejandra. Karim tells her he will do it. Raiza tells
carola that she thinks that miguel is running away from justice. Miguel tells
octavio that he will work as doorman in the casino. Octavio asks him not to
accept that job. The doctor tells lucia that her baby died. Lucia asks esther

infringes the morality and good manners of the island. Doris calls octavio and
tells him that she asked inzunza to throw maria alejandra out of the island.
Miguel tells raiza that he doesn't want to abuse her hospitality. She tells him
to feel at home. Octavio tells doris that she is very unfair to maria
alejandra. They argue and octavio hangs up. Andres reproaches doris her
behavior, she asks him if he is also in love with maria alejandra. He asks her
if her jealousy is because of the governor or because of octavio. Octavio tells
eduardo that he will tell maria alejandra what doris wants To do. Maria
alejandra tells the governor that they want to exile her from isla dorada.
Andres tells doris that maria alejandra is a beautiful woman. The governor
calls inzunza and asks him in front of maria alejandra to withdraw the order
doris gave him. Maria alejandra thanks the governor his help and tells him that
she will wait for him in the casino. Teobaldo arrives at aracely's room and
faces eduardo. The governor argues with doris and scolds her for not respecting

Lucia tells esther that she is sure that she is flirting with jose antonio and
asks her if she plans to have an affair with him. Maria alejandra tells octavio
what happened in the governor's office because of the order doris gave inzuzsa.
Jose antonio tells santa that esther will teach him to read and write and some
other things, and that as soon as he learns he will write a letter to maricruz
telling her his feelings for her. Octavio tells maria alejandra that doris is jealous
of her because she is a very beautiful woman and that he feels attracted to her
and feels that he is not indifferent to her. They stare at each other fixedly.
Santa tells jose antonio that he should be careful with esther. Octavio is
surprised to see the daughter of maria alejandra. She does not let juanita show
the girl to him. Octavio tells maria alejandra that he has a son that he does
not know but that he will look for him. Teobaldo arrives at the casino and
carola offers to give him back his job but he refuses. Carola offers him to let
him live in the house that he used to live. Esther tells jose antonio that she
will start teaching him that day. He answsers that he does not want to have
problems with lucia. Esther kisses him. Octavio tells maria alejandra that he
is interested in her. She asks him if he plans to tell doris that. Karim plans

Carlos tells maria alejandra that karim is interested in buying her the casino.
Lucía throws esther out of the ranch and she refuses to leave telling her that
she is happy in the ranch. Maria alejandra does not accept karim's offer to buy
the casino. Esther tells lucia that she wants to get married and start a family
and that she does not care if it is with jose antonio. Maria alejandra tells
the governor that karim pretends to buy the casino with the object of
disappearing her from isla dorada and asks him to protect her against karim
because he wants to take revenge on her for not accepting his propositions
because she is interested in another man. Carlos tells Carola that karim is
interested in buying her shares of the casino. The secretary of the governor
tells doris that the governor cancelled all his appointments to attend a very
important woman and that he is with her at that moment. Doris enters upset and
offends maría alejandra. Maria alejandra slaps her reproaching her for
insulting her. Jose antonio tells esther that he thinks that she is making fun
of him. The governor defends maria alejandra from doris and apologizes to her
for the behavior of doris. Esther tells jose antonio that she wants to arouse
love in him. Doris tells the governor that she won't allow that maria alejandra

Raíza gives miguel the promissory note to sign it, he hesitates and signs it.
Doris tells octavio that she hates maria alejandra. Octavio tells her that
maria alejandra will not get married with the governor. Jose antonio tells
esther that he loves her very much, but that lucia and all the narvaez will
oppose to their relationship, that he is afraid that she gets bored of him and
leave him as octavio left maricruz. Esther kisses him and tells him she loves
him. Miguel keeps losing at the roulette. Octavio and doris arrive at the
casino and he forbids her to treat maria alejandra rudely. Maria alejandra
tells octavio and doris that she is expecting the governor to dine with him.
Raiza tells carola that it is convenient for her to accompany miguel while he
gambles. Maria alejandra tells doris that she won't have dinner with the
governor in exchange for having dinner with octavio. Maria alejandra asks
octavio if he would keep her company. Octavio accepts. Octavio tells doris that

Octavio asks miguel to stop gambling. Miguel answers that he should not give

the governor. When doris gets home she finds out that maria alejandra lied to
her and that the governor is sleeping. Octavio swears maria alejandra that he
will not get married with doris. Lucia threatens esther with firing jose
antonio if she doesn't stay away from him. Octavio tells eduardo that he is in
love with maria alejandra. Karim tells the governor that he wants to buy the
casino to sink it to make a coral reef. The governor tells karim that the
casino ship should keep working as a casino. Doris goes to maria alejandra's
house and hears the baby crying. Maria alejandra tells doris that she plans to
get married with the governor or with octavio narvaez. Esther tells lucía that
she loves josé antonio and that she already had sex with him.

Because of this, Graciela starts seeking another prospect for her
daughter, and it is then that she hears Alejandro is Don Benjamín´s
heir, which makes him the perfect candidate for Monserrat.
In her
desperation, and feeling that she is about to get poor, Graciela asks
Alejandro for financial help; he accepts to support the Mendoza family
only if Graciela allows him to court her daughter. Graciela doesn´t
hesitate and she accepts the proposal right away, promising Alejandro
that Monserrat will never know about this.
A good friendship immediately grows between them since they both
share the same values. This situation makes Monserrat really
